Victory!!

We don't watch a whole lot of TV at our house, however there is one show that brings us all together and brings out the competitive side in all of us. Tuesday and Wednesday nights for the last 4 months have been spent watching American Idol. We have cheered, argued, and yes even cried over this year's Season 8 of American Idol. From the beginning Baylee (the MOST competitive one of all) has been cheering for Jasmine and Danny Gokey. We had many tears the nights they were both voted off. Dan was leaning towards Matt and lost interest when he was voted off. Brinley and Rylee just cheered for anyone that was on the stage, but I have loved voting for Kris Allen from the beginning!! I would come home from our YW activities and hurry and watch American Idol and start voting right away for Kris. Baylee would make me send a vote in for Danny (usually I would "forget" his number) every once in a while. Since Danny Gokey was voted off a week ago, Baylee has been plotting how she can vote for Adam Lambert (sorry fans, but his screaming makes my stomach sick) instead of Kris. She has been teasing me all week, telling me that Adam is going to win and Kris will never make it. Ha Ha!! Actually on Tuesday night Baylee and I had 3 phones going voting for Kris. She however thought that she was voting for Adam, but I'm the one that dialed the phone (with Kris' number of course) and handed it to her to keep hitting redial. I'm such a mean Mom, but I'll show her!! So last night it was sweet victory at our house (even though I was the only one jumping around with excitement!). I went on a field trip with Baylee today and have reminded her ALL day long who won. Yeah Kris!!

Captain Harris

A big CONGRATULATIONS to the newest Captain in the West Jordan Fire Department, my Dad!!
My Dad was just promoted to Captain in the West Jordan Fire Dept. Out of 14 guys, he came in 1st during a long couple of weeks of testing and interviews. It's been a long road to get here and we are very proud of him. He definitely deserves this!! He worked for Salt Lake County Fire for 26 years and then moved to West Jordan where he has been there for the last 10 years.
My Uncle Brad (who is the Chief of the WJFD) presented his new badge at the City Council Meeting and my Mom was able to pin his new badge on. So it's official!! We had our family there to celebrate. From the picture below, I think Brinley was the most excited!!

Congrats Captain Harris!! We are so very proud!!

Baylee's Roses

My cute little Baylee Rose had so much fun taking pictures of "her roses" at the St. George Temple. She spent quite a while trying to get the perfect shot in every color. Roses are her favorite flower (so are mine) because of her middle name, which she is named after my Great-Grandma Rose (her Great, Great-Grandma). I think she did a pretty good job...

This lavender one was our favorite one. Nice job Baylee Roses!!
